GA Department of Early Care and Learning: Raising Expectations, Raising Spirits

Every child deserves a bright start.

When the Georgia state agency responsible for helping families with childcare and early education needs came to Phase 3 to refresh their brand after 15 years, we were thrilled with the opportunity.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning provides resources for GA Pre-K, coordinates nutrition programs, licenses and inspects childcare providers, and so much more. But with some confusion over their name, outdated brand elements offering little distinction, and messaging that didn’t communicate their essential story, the department needed help.

The Phase 3 creative team took up their own crayons and markers to develop a dynamic new logo, expression, letterhead, business cards, and a new brand narrative.

As we worked with the the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, our team was inspired by the positive impact that the organization has on young children and their families throughout the state of Georgia.

The sun rays convey the idea of a bright future and the numerous departments that reside within this organization. The monogram also ties directly to Georgia with our state peach.

When developing the brand expression, we wanted the brand to have a modern and youthful feel, but also ensure that the organization represented themselves with authority.

Now the department has a clear message about providing essential services and resources to meet the needs of families, and strong visual elements that reflect who the organization is today as well as the vision for tomorrow. The future is bright.
