NBMBAA Annual Conference

Overview

The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA®) holds an annual conference and exposition each year in a different city for four days of seminars, networking, and a robust career expo. The event draws more than 250 leading Fortune 500 companies, all actively recruiting diverse talent. We were tasked with increasing conference exposure and registrations, attracting media coverage, planning and executing event logistics, and providing social media content for the annual conference and their partners.

Solution

We developed a proactive media relations strategy to engage local, regional and national media, while our specialists managed speaker engagement, wrote speaker scripts, managed day-of execution and confirmed media attendance for the ribbon cutting opening the career exposition.

 

With the goal of promoting the conference and increasing awareness, we focused on the LinkedIn platform and sponsored content to deploy our custom campaign. By building a look alike audience based on past attendees, we were able to not only reach those past attendees and but like-minded individuals.

 

While our PR teams proactively pitched both local and national media about the conference and potential attendance, our marketing team scouted event locations, managed the volunteer staff, developed run-of-show guidance and talking points to ensure a dramatic ribbon kickoff, and created and managed a comprehensive, by-the-minute social media schedule that set the pace for the event online.
